Today we went to Carriage Hills Farms. Us students were able to walk around with out much restrictions. The main focus of our activity goal today was to just get out and enjoy nature. To explore trails and visit the peaceful landscapes presented to use. There were many historic things there that I found much joy in. This included, a historic farm house where the original people who own the farm lived in, a blacksmith hut, a large animal barn which contained horses, pigs, sheep, and chickens. There were many trails and a small little creak that was not so small because of all the rain.Even though I have been to this farm before I wasn't really able to explore where I wanted to go and create my own memories. I was glad to roam free today because I was able to go to some many different places and stay for as long as I wanted.
I think by being able to live on a farm you are able to experience the little things in life with great joy. It makes you happy about the small things while the big things just brighten you world. Its important to have a mindset like this so you don't expect so much out of everything which could lead to disappointment.
A Barn

My day always starts anew but never seems to end.
The shuffling of feet and hooves from inside resting until early dawn.
The rooster coming up to my door, screaming as soon as I can see the sun.
And so, their day begins. The farmer comes out, slamming things around.
Getting the things, he needs per usual.

My doors are in constant movement.
The houses nay,
While the pigs snort and wallow in mud.
While I cover them all, protecting what’s important while also stilling being the most important part.
Funny how that works.
